Searching for a Plan B
When Tim and Ronda faced two major life decisions, they turned to a home business for another option. A year later, they’ve completely changed their professional and financial opportunities and started saving for their future.
A time of decisions
In April 2011, Tim and Ronda found themselves at an important crossroads. After more than 20 years of prosperity, their thriving tile and marble restoration business was suffering, and Ronda was preparing to resume her career as a stockbroker two hours away in San Diego. But they had recently been introduced to a home business and weighed it as another option for staying afloat.“If I moved to San Diego, I could keep my stockbroker’s license current and contribute to our family income, but I was unsure what would happen to Tim and me—I would only see him on the weekends,” Ronda remembers. “On the other hand, I could stay with Tim in Palm Desert and not wonder about our relationship but take a big chance with this business. I was so stuck.”
Plan B
“I called the firm and told them I wasn’t coming after all,” Ronda says. “They really let me have it, and they said I’d lose my license and probably never be able to work in the industry again. But looking back, it feels great to know we made the right decision.”
In their first two weeks with their home business, they worked hard to get a strong start. “We really went to work,” remembers Tim. “When we saw our first check for $1,917, we were so excited and knew we could double it in a month.”
Tim and Ronda went “full bore” in the month of May. “We earned $4,322 and haven’t looked back,” says Tim. “It gave us a whole new way of enhancing not only our lives, but the lives of the people we care about.”
Finding independence
For Ronda in particular, their new business has given her the kind of independence she always dreamed of. “The life of a stockbroker was very stressful, mentally and physically,” says Ronda. “You can’t put a price on freedom. To wake up when I want to, work when I want to, exercise when I want to—those are things I never realized I was giving up when I worked in the corporate world. It’s like we found a ‘get out of jail free’ card and started using it.”With their business in place and generating a consistent residual income, Tim and Ronda decided to take their vows.
“We were married November 11, 2011, and it’s been the best thing for us,” says Ronda. “It’s totally changed our lives.”
Not only has this business given them a true Plan B, but it’s helped them save for retirement. “We’ve put away over $100,000 toward our retirement,” Ronda says. “We thank God for leading us to this.”
