A friend of mine told this story of what happened when she picked up her daughters from the babysitter one day.
When she got there, they had all climbed a tree and were very proud.
This is how she was greeted by her oldest, who just turned 7:
Daughter: Mom!
Her: Hi, honey. Whatcha doing?
Daughter: I've been doing research and experiments!
Her: Oh, really? About what?
Daughter: Did you know that cats always land on their feet? *Pulls a kitten from behind her back, in the tree, and tosses it to the ground* See?? It doesn't matter how I throw him! *Jumps down from tree and grabs poor kitty again. Climbs tree and throws kitten over her shoulder*
Her: *trying not to crack up* Wow, that's quite a discovery! Great job! How about we let the kitten rest now? I'll bet he's tired of playing...
